An Old Bush Huangzhi hailing from Wudong Mountain, Phoenix Dancong's coveted high elevation core region, comes with high expectations.

With a history of over 200 years, 黄枝香 Huang Zhi Xiang is one of the seminal varietals to be canonized from the existent Phoenix Mountain Shui Xian germplasm much of the modern dancong cultivars are thought to have derived from.

Sometimes translated into Yellow Gardenia or Orange Blossom, Huang Zhi is at the top of the 凤凰单丛十大香 big ten fragrance varietals list, and naturally features a bright gardenia aroma.  Some believe that this tea was actually named after its likeness to the Kumquat or to tangerine citrus, a claim less evident due to misunderstandings across local dialects in the past, as they communicated the following similar-sounding yet different characters: 黄枝 / 黄栀 / 黃橘.

Jun's Wudong Huangzhi produced from mature bushes around 80 years of age hits enough high marks that it was impossible to turn down.  Please enjoy this incredible tea.
